Void+1 launches its Year-3, “CONVERGENCE,” with a formidable EP by Cam Lasky, XENOMORPH: BISHOP.
The previous 5 volumes of his Xenomorph release series have been native to his own label, KWAIOTO, however, the latest installment, a release that exemplifies the cutting edge of modern electronic music, finds its home on Void+1 Recordings.
Known for his narrative-driven approach, Cam dissolves the boundaries of techno and once again demonstrates an intimidating production prowess across a variety of cinematically charged styles. “Fiorina 161” is a peak-time monster, “Synthetics” and “XX121” evoke a trailer-esque, score-like mood while “341-B Pt.2” unleashes breakbeat-mayhem.
For the closing track, we have Scalameriya on remix duty for “XX121”, which he transforms into a stripped-down, ritualistic offering with his signature scare-tactic twist on the breakdown.
